Functions
- Work in collaboration with the treasurer on all club financial matters. Keep and maintain the club membership roster, including name, address, phone numbers, e-mail address, date of birth, names and DOB of family members, type of membership and dues status. Add new members as needed and periodically purge inactive names. Send a welcome e-mail to every new member and present each new member with a club hat and keep Newsletter/ Website Committee current on membership contact information.
- Send a notice to each member household at the beginning of the year at the time to renew membership. Follow up with two additional reminders to those who fail to renew.
- Renew annual club membership with Road Runners Club of America and other affiliates.
- Prepare and present a report for the GRR Annual Meeting reviewing the previous year’s activity.
Duties of the treasurer
- Ensures that RRCA finances are managed according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for nonprofits and that funds are secured, deposited, invested, spent and reported according to the board’s policies and procedures.
- Is responsible for timely filing of tax returns.
- May recommend that any or all of the above duties be delegated to employed staff, volunteers or independent professionals as the board may choose, provided, however, that the treasurer is responsible for oversight of such tasks.
