The 5th Annual NRG Energy Race to Fill the Pantry, a 5K road race / 2-mile walk / 1/4-mile children’s race hosted by the Glastonbury River Runners, will take place on Sunday, November 11th 2012 at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
Course information
The 5K road race and two mile walk will start at 9:00 AM from Riverfront Park and follow a circular route through the neighborhood. See the course map below or check it out on MapMyRun.
Registration
Registration is $20. Register online at raceit.com, or download and mail in the Race to Fill the Pantry registration form. Race-day registration begins at 7:30 AM. Please let us know if you are a veteran, either on the registration form or, if you register online, by emailing info@glastonburyriverrunners.com.
Prizes & T-shirts
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: under 12, 13–18, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+. The first 150 registered participants get a free t-shirt.
Beginner training program
Inspired to start running? The Glastonbury River Runners FREE beginner running training program will start Saturday September 8th, 2012. The nine-week program will culminate in the Race to Fill the Pantry 5K race. To register, email beginners@glastonburyriverrunners.com.
Food Bank donation
$5 from every registration fee will be donated to the Glastonbury Food Bank. Participants are also asked to donate a non-perishable food item, such as canned vegetables or soup, boxed stuffing etc. In 2011 we were able to donate over $1000 plus a trailer full of food to the town Food Bank, right in time for Thanksgiving.

From Route 2: Exit 8, west on Hebron Avenue to three-way stop, right onto Main Street, first left onto Wells Street. Park is 1/4 mile on the left.
From I-91: Exit 25 east onto Route 3, cross the Putnam Bridge, first exit (Main Street, Glastonbury), left onto Glastonbury Blvd, right onto Main Street, right onto Wells Street. Park is 1/4 mile on the left.
