The Glastonbury River Runners (GRR) is conducting a FREE 9 week running program for beginners leading up to the GRR’s own Spicy Green Bean Run Diva Run 5K race on April 15th, 2012. If your goal is to complete a 5K (3.1 miles running and/or walking), then join us! Meet more people with the same goal, make new friends and feel great!

How does it work?
- We meet in Glastonbury two days a week (Tuesday 6 PM & Saturday 8 AM).
- The program includes combinations of running and walking certain distances each week.
- You can choose to do the combined run/walk workout or just walk the entire distance each time we meet depending on your goal (run or walk) for the RUN DIVA RUN 5K on April 15th, 2012.

- Start date: Saturday, February 11th at 8 AM.
- Start location: Riverfront Park, 200 Welles Street, Glastonbury, CT. Meet in front of the community center.
- Saturday morning sessions: 8 AM at Riverfront Park
- Tuesday evening sessions: 6 PM at Rotary Field, Olde Stage Road, Glastonbury, CT.
- Goal: The training program will end with the completion of the RUN DIVA RUN 5K (3.1 miles) road race & 2 mile walk on Sunday, April 15th.
- Intensity: You can choose to run/walk or just walk any route we take.
- Weather: We will train rain or shine unless there is thunder & lightening.
Coaching
This program will be supported by experienced runners and coaches and will cover all aspects of a running regimen, including:
- Warming Up
- Stretching
- Hydration
- Pacing
- Avoiding Injury
- Goal Setting
- Proper Footwear.

- Then turn up on the first Saturday or Tuesday training session!
- Remember to consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program.
