***** The King of Pain has been rescheduled from Sunday, February 10th to Sunday, February 17th due to the snow. Please tell all your friends.*****
On Sunday, February 17th, 2013 we will be reviving Mike Keenan’s “King of Pain” – a 10-mile road race that is not for the faint of heart.
The race will be held at the Hopewell Elementary School, 1068 Chestnut Hill Road, Glastonbury, CT. Race time is 8 AM. Registration is free and begins at 7 AM.
This will be an informal, hand-timed, no-frills race: no entry fee, no t-shirts, no mile markers or screaming fans, just bragging rights and the satisfaction of conquering Glastonbury’s most demanding course.
The course route will look something like this:
We will be inviting club members and extending invitations to the other area running clubs and after the hard work, we will be holding an inter-club potluck. (So please bring bread, cookies, juice, coffee, or other breakfast treats.)
So, if you are up for the challenge of “Ten Miles of Tough”, or you want a great warm-up for the Colchester Half, or if you just like pot-lucks, this is a Can’t Miss Event.
Want to help? Contact Rich Baber or Susan Sacco via the club email address, info@glastonnburyriverrunners.com.

I ran it the first year you held the series and it was brutal, but ever so satisfying! I will be there if my training allows at that point in the year. Please keep us updated!
