Kevin Rice writes:
Suresh Jatti (Coach) and Kevin Rice recently competed in the Bridge of Flowers 10K, located in historic Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
In 2010, this prestigious race was the site of the USATF-NE Grand Prix Series 10K championship. Conceived in 1979, the Bridge of Flowers 10K offers a challenging and scenic course that has remained virtually unchanged during its 33 year history.
What we found particularly striking about this classic event were the beauty and charm of the village of Shelburne Falls, the warm and friendly people, and wonderful post-race celebration.
Coach turned in a fabulous effort, finishing in a blazing 41:26 (6:40 pace), 3rd in his age group, and a justly deserved spot on the medal podium. Kevin pulled up the rear of our small GRR contingency, finishing in 44:19 (7:08 pace) and 4th in his age group.
